NEW Goddess Profile Below!!!!!!
The Greek gods were somewhat difficult to understand, and that's partially why they are so interesting to study. There are so many of them for one thing(there are the main twelve and then you have a whole plethera of minor gods). There is also the fact that there are many conflicting stories about them. Was Hephaestus banned from Mt.Olympus by Hera who could not stand to look at her ugly baby? Or was he kicked out by Zeus who was angry that his son sided with Hera in an argument between the two? I don't know the answer(plus that seems like a family issue to me),but I will try to do the best that I can to provide you with the best information. If you want to add anything to these profiles please write a comment.

Hephaestus
I was trying to figure out who I would write about first for the longest time, and I guess that I'll write about Hephaestus. I already mentioned him above, and people always start with Zeus. Seriously,no one cares about WHO creates Zeus' lighting bolts, they just care that Zeus is the king and that he has all of the power,and...Okay. I'll stop ranting and tell you about Hephaestus.
Name:Hephaestus(Vulcan)
Parents: Zeus and Hera(or Hera alone)
Place of Residence: a forge under Mt.Etna in Silicy
Occupation: patron god of fire, the blacksmith and armorer of the gods
Spouse: this ugly looking fellow( that's what everyone says I haven't met him yet) was married to the beautiful Aphrodie;Zeus thought he would be the most stable of the godsnd
Interesting: Forged Zeus' thunderbolts, Achilles' shield, and made a girdle out of gold and magic for Aphrodite. Unfortunately for Hephaestus, when Aphrodite wore this girdle, no man could resist her charm ...

America, here is the profile of your favorite goddess.
Athena, the goddess of wisdom, was perhaps Zeus' favorite child. That may
(or may not)be because she sprang fully grown and armed from her father's head. I guess he was spared the teenage years...
Here are some facts about Athena:
*Her mother was Metis, goddess of prudence(though she forget this prudene and was swallowed by Zeus when she morphed into a fly). She now lives in Zeus' head where she, for eternity, will badger her ex-husband. Oops... I meant give him "advice" for eternity... My mistake.
*She is symbolized by the olive branch. She is also recognized by the owl.
Hoot Hoot!
*Nike, the spirit of victory, follows her costantly. I wouldn't mind having this particular spirit follow me around...might be useful.
*She, like her other immortal relatives, took GREAT offence when we mere mortals demonstrated hubris against her.
*I suspect that her decendants have a horrible fear of spiders(I base that judgement on Annabeth in the Percy Jackson books). This goes back to that whole hubris thing with Arachne.
*America,a dedicated Morgan's Mythology follower who keeps writing comments, posting on the mesage boards, and sending me messages, is Athena's biggest fan.
