Women do not wear togas!

Yes, I write the truth. I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty tired of seeing togas being referred to as a garment that Roman men and women wore. Okay, you broke me down... I didn't know the difference until last year! I know, shame on me...

TOGAS= Men
TUNICAS= Women and children

Like I said before, this is a simple mistake, so let me explain the difference. Which is pretty simple, if I may say so. Togas (worn by men) were wrapped around the body scroupously. Women and children on the other hand, wore a tunica, which was placed over the head. Now, I bet you won't make that mistake again.

  2. How goes it, peoples of the mythology blog!?
    I write merely to make a correction to this blog pertaining to women's apparel and to retain the propriety of the Roman woman. Women did not only wear tunicas, but stolas over this; stolas being basically an elongated form of a tunica. Over this they might have worn a palla.
    Censored and without blemish I give to you the reformed, revised, and fully amended version of a contribution to the international "Morgan's Mythology Blog!"
    I hope to see this comment published anon,

  5. How goes it, peoples of the mythology blog!?
    Complain I will and complain I shall in response to this catastrophic nothingness. For it is nothingness which spurs me to complaint; static and suspension are seen from the far end where dwells the inaccessible knowledge of Greek mythology. To what end? Yes, to what end I ask. For how long must we wait in suspenseful torment while we pause in eager anticipation yet fading hope.. how long? For the second time must I comment under the title of "Women do not wear togas!" because I have not another post under which to interpose. But such is life... or so they say. Yet I expected more and received mere disappointment.
    I expect to see this comment posted,
